Rhodri Rees

Senior Partner

Rhodri Rees is a Senior Partner and specialises in Commercial Property and Business and Commercial work. He is also our Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).

Melanie Pratlett


Melanie Pratlett qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and has been with Adams Harrison since 1993 becoming a partner in 1996. She specialises in the Wills Estates and Trust areas of the practice and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Melanie Pratlett is our Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP).

Shoshana Goldhill


Shoshana Goldhill heads up our family team and specialises in children’s issues and matrimonial finance and matrimonial property disputes. She is an Accredited Specialist with Resolution (Solicitors Family Law Association) and a Collaborative Lawyer and is Mediation trained but not practising currently.
Shoshana Goldhill is also the person responsible for the quality of all the services we provide to clients, and the person who will deal with any complaints.

Jennifer Carpenter

Managing Partner

Jennifer Carpenter became Managing Partner of the firm in January 2014. She was appointed as a Partner in January 2005, having qualified as a solicitor in 2000 after completing her training with the firm. She specialises in Employment, property dispute litigation and contentious probate. She has extensive experience of undertaking advocacy in the Magistrates Court, County Court and Employment Tribunals. Jennifer is also our Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA) and our Data Protection Officer.

Richard Booth


Richard is a member of the property team, based at our Saffron Walden office. He qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and has worked in the local area for the last 11 years following a career break spent travelling. Richard has considerable experience in dealing with all aspects of property work and has a personable and client focused approach.

Tracy Spilsbury


Tracy was appointed a Partner in February 2016. Tracy qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and has worked in Haverhill Cambridge and Ely as a Conveyancing Solicitor. She joined Adams Harrison in July 2014 to complement Haverhill’s busy residential department. She is our Head of Residential Conveyancing. She is also responsible for the residential property work undertaken in all three offices and is the Conveyancing Quality Scheme Senior Responsible Officer.
Tracy brings a friendly yet professional approach to her role.

Hayley Ford


Hayley joined Adams Harrison in 2013 as a Solicitor in the Private Client department. She obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge before completing her Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP Law School and the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London.
Hayley specialises in preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, registering Enduring Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection work and administering estates. Hayley is based in our Saffron Walden office but is available to see clients at our other offices.
Hayley is a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner, holding a diploma in Trusts and Estates and a diploma in Advising Vulnerable Clients (which she passed with a distinction) from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). TEPs are internationally recognised as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.
Hayley became a partner in the firm in January 2021

Wills and Probate

Christine Gee


Christine has 32 years experience in the law but has specialised in Wills and Probate for the last 18 years having gained a Specialist Paralegal Diploma in April 2000. Christine is based at our Sawston office.

Leanne Mayes

Legal Executive

Leanne joined Adams Harrison after her A Levels in 2002, initially as an office junior/receptionist before working her way up to a secretary and then becoming a PA to the Head of the Department in the Wills, Estates and Trust Department. She has since qualified as a Graduate Legal Executive in April 2013 and was granted a Fellowship in June 2015.
She specialises in the preparation of Wills and administration of estates and can deal with various aspects of Powers of Attorney and Deputyship Order applications.
Winner of the Cambridgeshire and District Law Society Trainee Lawyer of the Year Award 2015.

Sarah Bruce

Legal Executive

Sarah joined the firm in 1995 as a trainee legal executive working within the Probate department. She carried out her training and examinations whilst working full time and gained fellowship to the Institute of Legal Executives (now Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) in 2002.


Jack Stewart


Jack qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and joins the Saffron Walden office as a member of the conveyancing team. He completed both his degree and Legal Practice Course in London and moved back shortly afterwards to begin training in Ipswich. Jack specialises in residential property work and prides himself on his approachability and client orientated service which he feels is key during what can be a stressful and testing process.

Matthew Darmon


Matt initially joined the firm straight from University in July 2015 working as a paralegal within the firms commercial property department, he then undertook his training contract focussing on residential and commercial property work. After a brief stint working as a commercial property solicitor in Cambridge, Matt has joined the Sawston office as a member of the Conveyancing team.

Cathy Buck

Legal Executive

Cathy Buck is a Legal Executive specialising in residential property work at our Haverhill office.
She joined the firm in 1993 as a trainee Legal Executive. She completed her ILEX Part 1 at Cambridge Regional College in 1995, her ILEX Part II at Chelmsford College and became a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1999 (now Chartered Institute of Legal Executives)

Family Law

Susan Kerr


Susan Kerr qualified as a solicitor in 1987. She joined Adams Harrison’s family team in July 2019 and specialises in divorce, finance and property claims and children disputes.

Emma Laidlaw

Graduate Legal Executive

Emma joined Adams Harrison in 2006 after finishing her A levels and began working for the Head of the Family Department in early 2007. Whilst working in the Family Department Emma began studying to become a Legal Executive and qualified as a Graduate Legal Executive in August 2013. Emma is based in our Haverhill office in the Family Department.

Kerri Westlake

Graduate Legal Executive

Kerri joined Adams Harrison in 2003 as an office junior/accounts assistant. She worked her way up to a Legal Secretary and then became a Personal Assistant in the Family Department. Whilst working in the Family Department Kerri began studying to become a Legal Executive. Kerri left the practice for a short while to start her family and returned to the practice, having finalized her studies and qualified as a Graduate Legal Executive, in April 2015.


Anton Bilinski

Legal Executive

Anton Bilinski joined the firm in 2001 as a trainee working within the Litigation Department. He carried out his training and examinations whilst working full time and gained fellowship to the Institute of Legal Executives (now Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) in 2010.


Robert Bourne

Practice Manager

Rob joined Adams Harrison in January 2020, having moved to the area from Devon , where he held a similar Practice Manager role.

He has extensive leadership and management experience gained in organisations across the Private, Public and Voluntary sectors.

He was awarded an MA Management (Distinction) in 2006 by Coventry University.

Rob works closely with the Partners of the organisation to ensure its operational and strategic effectiveness, efficiency and development.

Alison Helbert

Accounts Manager

Alison joined Adams Harrison in July 1981 and has progressed to the Partnership’s Accounts Manager.

She is therefore responsible for a wide range of the organisation’s financial matters. This includes working with accountants and auditors to ensure the accuracy and validity of company accounts; ensuring financial compliance with legal, regulatory and policy requirements; management of income and expenditure; financial reporting; contributing to the development of budgets and forecasts; managing organisational cash flows.

She is supported by an accounts assistant and works closely with the firm’s Partners.
