Congratulations and gifts were given to one of our staff members, Teresa Pitts, to celebrate her 60th birthday.
As she is out of the office tomorrow (her birthday) we celebrated a day early.

Sawston Fun Run 2019
Adams Harrison, sponsors of the Sawston Fun Run, entered a team of 12 on Sunday 12th May.
There were some 1100 runners taking part. Adams Harrison had two runners – Rebecca Dedman who achieved 17th place for her age group and Jack Edwards (Sue’s grandson) who achieved 25th in his age group with a time of 40 minutes.
As for the rest of the team we were collecting money and handing out flags on our way round and the last member came in some 47 minutes on the shorter route.

Law Society’s Legal Excellence Standard (Lexcel) For 20th Year
Adams Harrison are very pleased to announce that we have attained our re-accreditation to the Law Society’s Legal Excellence Standard (Lexcel) for the 20th year, having originally achieved the standard in 1999.
We were commended for 36 areas of good practice and highly commended for sustaining a very high level of compliance against the standard.
We were also highly commended for our approach to the development and implementation of our Community and Social Responsibility Policy by attending local schools, providing advice in Careers Events about the legal profession and helping pupils understand the workplace and recruitment into the sector. As well as supporting a number of local events and charities.
The audit commented on the excellent calibre and high morale of our staff.
Our assessor stated that there was clear evidence that we continue to place very significant emphasis on the levels of client care that we provide. He stated that it was evident from the files he reviewed that levels of client care were excellent.

Congratulations to Kelsey Ling our junior secretary who had completed her apprenticeship with us and is now working in the Family Department.
Passing this latest Pitmans test is another feather to her cap.

Paige Doran and Fiancé Aaron
Paige Doran secretary to Lisa Thornhill got engaged on 27th December to fiancé Aaron in a surprise engagement on 27th December in Paris.
Cazz Rice and Fiancé Gary
Cazz Rice, secretary to Rebecca Dedman got engaged to fiancé Gary on Tuesday 2nd April – again a complete surprise on their 2 year anniversary.
We wish them all the best for their future lives together

Sawston Fun Run 2019
Adams Harrison are proud to be are one of the sponsors of the forthcoming 2019 Sawston Fun Run and Walk which will be taking place on Sunday 12th May 2019.
This event has been running every year since 1986 and we have supported and sponsored the event since taking over the Sawston office from Webb & Partners, who had supported and sponsored the event from its outset in 1986.
Over the years a total of £456,000 has been donated to local charities and organisations.

Paul Cammiss
It is with deep regret that the partners have to announce Paul Cammiss a former partner in the firm for very many years passed away on 15th February. Our deepest condolences are sent to his wife Lin and family.
Paul was a founder member of Adams Harrison in 1989 and remained involved with the practice, even after his retirement in June 2014, performing a role as a consultant until last year when he finally decided to enjoy retirement fully.
He will be sadly missed by those of us that were lucky enough to work with him at Adams Harrison
Cyber Essentials Accreditation
The firm has been awarded the Cyber Essentials accreditation – demonstrating that we have in place systems and controls to ensure that we are best protected against any internal and external threats. This includes not only our computer hardware but our entire internet facing infrastructure at Adams Harrison, including firewalls and internet routers.
The Cyber Essential scheme is Government backed and industry supported. To become accredited, it is necessary to show that there are technical controls in place to prevent against on line security threats.
We take seriously the risk of malicious attacks on data and therefore keep under regular review the steps and measures that can be put in place to reduce the risk.
We are now displaying the Cyber Essentials badge on our website homepage and e-mails to give clients and third parties peace of mind that their data is safe with us.
